Worker & Worshiper

King Solomon observed that “all things are full of labor.” One generation comes and another goes. The sun rises in the east and sets in the west. The wind blows south, then turns north, circling again and again. Everything in creation is moving, working, cycling, fulfilling its appointed purpose.

Look around—everything is working:
the seasons shift, birds migrate, ants gather, and people hustle through their days. Even Jesus said that He and the Father are always working.

But here’s the trap:
to believe that this is all you are—
a worker, a machine, a mere instrument.
Rise in the morning, work all day, go to sleep, repeat.
Living in one of the most industrialized nations on earth can seduce you into defining your worth by your labor.

Here’s the truth:
You are a worker—but you are also a worshiper.
Your value is not tied to production but to presence.
Your dignity is not rooted in what you accomplish but in Whose image you bear.

Jesus invites you into a different rhythm:

“Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart,
and you will find rest for your souls.”
(Matthew 11:28–29)

Work, but worship too.
Run, but rest too.
Carry the yoke, but stay close to the One who carries you.

Finish strong—the rest of your life really can be the best of your life.
