When Work Feels Empty
When Work Feels Empty
Solomon had it all—wealth, wisdom, success. Yet he said,
“I hated all the things I had toiled for under the sun” (Ecclesiastes 2:17).
Why? Because he realized everything he built would one day be left behind… and possibly wasted.
His warning?
Work is a gift—but it makes a terrible god.
You can have the dream job and still feel empty if you expect it to fill your soul.
✅ Real purpose and joy don’t come from paychecks or promotions.
They come from God.
“Without Him, who can eat or find enjoyment?” (v.25)
So yes—work hard, build well.
But don’t forget to breathe.
Receive.
Enjoy what God has already given.
Let Him be at the center of your 9 to 5—and even your Mondays will feel different.
