The Greatest Trap Isn't What You Think

The Greatest Trap Isn’t What You Think

It’s not success, sex, or power—it’s self-rejection.
That inner voice that says, “I’m not worthy,” gets louder as we age.

The woman at the well (John 4) knew that voice well.
Shamed. Alone. Avoiding the whispers, the stares, and the pain.
Divorced five times. Living with a man who wasn’t her husband.
She didn’t just fear rejection—she expected it.

But Jesus went to where her pain was.
He didn’t avoid her. He met her—right in the middle of her shame.

Henri Nouwen said:
“Self-rejection is the greatest enemy of the spiritual life… because it contradicts the sacred voice that calls us the Beloved.”

But Jesus calls us Beloved.
Even when we’ve written ourselves off, He says:
“You’re not too far gone. Grace still has your name.”

“Call it what it is… God’s grace.” – Unspoken

Strong Blessings,
