Deserts: Where God Does His Deepest Work
Jesus’ ministry didn’t begin on a stage—it began in the desert.
Before the miracles…
Before the crowds…
There was silence. Temptation. Stripping away.
In the wilderness, Jesus faced what we all face—temptation to settle for power, popularity, or comfort. But He chose intimacy with the Father over influence with the world.
Deserts aren’t punishments. They’re invitations.
They strip us of distractions and reveal what truly holds us.
Too often, we reduce the Gospel to benefits—healing, success, answered prayers. But the Gospel is not a transaction. It’s not about formulas or earning favor.
The true gift… is Jesus.
Not what He can do for us—but who He is.
The Pearl of Great Price.
The divine life itself.
When we stop using God as a tool and start treasuring Him as the prize, our deserts become sacred. And in those quiet, raw places… we are reborn.
Strong Blessings,

I love this devotional!!! So many times we come to God in prayer asking for gifts as if he were Santa Clause. I'm guilty too. Come to him just to be with him is something I'm coming to practice. Enjoying his presence is my goal. Thank you for your encouragement
