Tree of Knowledge or Tree of Life?

Are we reaching for the Tree of Knowledge—trying to explain everything through human wisdom?
Or are we choosing the Tree of Life—trusting God through mystery?

Bishop T.D. Jakes said it powerfully:
“Life is a mystery, and if you take away mystery and make everything certain, you would not need faith. Faith functions best when you don’t know.”

He continues:
“God often puts us in situations to destabilize us—to keep us from relying on what we know. If you knew everything, there would be no room for faith, growth, discovery, or innovation. Creativity comes in uncertainty.”

What a word.

If we knew everything in advance, we’d never discover what’s next.
Mystery stretches us. It humbles us.
It invites us to depend—not on muscle, but on mercy.

King Solomon said it this way:

“No one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.” —Ecclesiastes 3:11

So today, let mystery lead you to deeper trust.
Let go of needing all the answers.
Choose the Tree of Life.

Strong blessings,
Cedric
