“In The Living Years”

“Say it loud, say it clear. You can listen as well as you hear. It’s too late when you die to admit we don’t see eye to eye…”

I never got to tell my father what I needed to say. He died at 45. I was still holding back. Now, at 62, I’m doing everything I can to help others find the courage to speak now—during the living years.

Yes, there will always be words left unsaid, things left undone. But don’t let the thief of regret take what love or peace you still have time to give.

When death comes, all you’re left with are memories. Will they be memories of fear, bitterness, and silence? Or peace, courage, and love spoken aloud?

Don’t carry the weight of “If only…”
“If only I’d forgiven her…”
“If only I’d been honest…”
“If only I’d said, ‘I’m sorry.’”

Solomon wrote:
“Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to act.” (Proverbs 3:27)

You have the power now. Don’t say, “Tomorrow,” when today is still breathing.

At the dinner table—say it.
At the reunion—say it.
While they’re still alive—say it loud, say it clear.
Even if you’re dying—say it.

Because healing, peace, and love only work in one place—
the living years.

Strong Blessings,
Cedric
