Use God’s Timepiece

The seasons aren’t just about weather—they’re God’s timepiece. Each one carries a lesson. Spring is for planting, not chanting. Summer is for growth, not distraction. Fall is for harvest, not hitting snooze. Winter is for rest and retooling, not giving up.

Frustrated with your schedule, your deadlines, your dreams? Remember this: delay doesn’t mean denial. Jim Rohr once said, “Life asks us to make measurable progress in a reasonable time. That’s why they make those fourth-grade chairs so small—you won’t fit in at age twenty-five.” If you’ve been “stuck in the chair” longer than expected, don’t waste the season. Listen. Learn. God often does His deepest work in hard places. As my mother told me, “We grow in hard places.” Or as another voice wisely put it, “We grow the tallest in the valley.”

Solomon wrote, “Consider what God has done” (Ecclesiastes 7:13). Stop. Reflect. Ask yourself: What season am I in right now—spring, summer, fall, or winter? Is this my planting season? My growing season? My harvest season? Or my season of rest?

Creation knows its timing. Ants store food in summer. Geese and hummingbirds fly south in winter. They live by God’s design. Shouldn’t we?

So surrender your planner, your deadlines, your big dreams to God. You scroll through voices on social media every day—why not listen to His? He has already promised, “He has made everything beautiful in its time” (Ecclesiastes 3:11). He knows the exact moment for your blossoming, your breakthrough, your harvest.

Man made the clock. God made the seasons. Use God’s timepiece.

Finish strong. The rest of your life can be the best of your life.

Your Gift,
Cedric
