What Season Are You In?

“I will send you rain in its season, and the ground will yield its crops and the trees their fruit.” — Leviticus 26:4 (NIV)

It’s hard to know where you’re going when you’re lost within yourself.

Before leading others, setting goals, or building teams, take a sacred pause and ask:
“When was the last time I took an honest look at myself?”

Your greatest gift to the world isn’t your résumé — it’s your personal and spiritual development.
What are your assets and liabilities?
What are you giving to yourself and to others?

I often ask groups to see their lives through the seasons of the soul — spring, summer, fall, and winter. Each holds its own grace:
    •    Spring: Planting new dreams and disciplines.
    •    Summer: Growth, warmth, and opportunity.
    •    Fall: Harvest and honest reflection.
    •    Winter: Rest, pruning, and preparation.

In Leviticus 26, God promised Israel that if they walked in His ways, He would send rain “in its season.”
Notice: not all at once, but in rhythm — divine timing matched to human obedience.
The soil of their lives would yield fruit not by striving, but by staying aligned with His seasons.

That same grace governs our growth.
When we cooperate with God’s timing, He brings the rain right on schedule — no sooner, no later.
But when we resist or rush the process, our souls dry out, and we blame everything around us.

Aesop told of a farmer who cursed heaven when his wagon got stuck in the mud.
He blamed the horses, the rain, the gods — everything but himself.
Proverbs 19:3 warns,

“A person’s own folly leads to their ruin,
yet their heart rages against the Lord.”

Grace invites us to do the opposite — to pause, reflect, and realign.
Before you sail the unpredictable seas of life, you must know what season you’re in.
