I Cried for Redemption—but Now I Ache for Restoration

Peter once asked Jesus a deeply human question:
“Lord, we’ve left everything to follow You… what will we have?”

It wasn’t selfish.
It was honest.
And Jesus didn’t rebuke him.
He rewarded him—with a promise big enough to steady any trembling heart.

Jesus replied:

“Truly I tell you… in the new world—the renewal of all things—you who have followed Me will sit on thrones… and everyone who has left anything for My sake will receive a hundredfold and inherit eternal life.”
(Matthew 19:27–29)

That phrase “new world” or “renewal” is one of the greatest promises in Scripture.
The Greek word is palingenesia—renewal-
“Genesis again.”
A new beginning.
Eden restored.
Not just redemption of souls…
but restoration of all things (Acts 3:19–21).

When I was younger, redemption was enough for me.
Forgiveness thrilled me.
Grace rescued me.
Heaven sounded like a bonus.

But now—
after watching youth fade,
after burying loved ones,
after witnessing the earth groan
under violence, confusion, and decay—
my heart longs for something bigger.

I don’t just want forgiveness.
I want restoration.
I want everything broken made whole.
I want Eden again.
I want the King on His throne and the world healed from its wounds.

And Jesus says:
It’s coming.

This is the only hope bright enough,
strong enough,
and beautiful enough
to outweigh the heartache of this world.

Redemption saved me…
but restoration keeps me standing.

And friend—
you haven’t seen your best days yet.

Finish Strong.
The rest of your life
can truly be
the best of your life.
